Statement from the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Vienna

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Vienna, in the wake of the recent aggression by the rogue regimes of Israel and the United States, wishes to emphasize the following points:

1.The act of aggression constitutes a blatant violation of Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. In accordance with the principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations, the Iranian nation retains an inherent right to legitimate self-defense. This right is being exercised by the capable armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

2.The Islamic Republic of Iran reaffirms its respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all its brotherly neighbors. The right to self-defense extends to the suppression of the source of aggression. Consequently, Iranian forces targeted American bases and facilities in the Persian Gulf region solely to neutralize the threat. Such actions must never be construed, in any circumstance, as an infringement upon the sovereignty or territorial integrity of neighboring states.

3.Credible evidence shows that Mossad operatives have carried out false flag operations designed to heighten tensions and drag regional countries into a conflict that is not their own. Reportedly in several instances, Mossad agents have been apprehended for planning terrorist acts that were intended to be attributed to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

4.The Islamic Republic of Iran categorically denies any involvement in attacks on targets in Türkiye or the Republic of Azerbaijan. Any allegations to the contrary are part of a deliberate false flag campaign orchestrated by hostile actors.

5. The Islamic Republic of Iran remains steadfast in its commitment to the principles of peace, security, and mutual respect among all nations. At the same time, it reaffirms its resolve to safeguard the security of its people, protect its sovereignty, and decisively defend its territorial integrity.
